Villa Des Indes
We love VIlla Des Indes. It's by far the most stylish place we've seen in Bali, embodying the brilliant and ruch cultural history of something like Tugu, but with the privacy and intimacy of a villa. The collection of antiques and period pieces makes walking through the rooms an experience and gives the whole place a very personal feeling, not at all like the sterile "tropical modern" designs that populate the island like a plague of mediocrity.
Des Indes is located in Seminyak, across the road from the Samaya and near the Legian. It's close to the beach and a short walk to KuDeTa and La Lucchiola -- a great location if you want to be where the action is.
There's a "villa dog" at Des Indes. He's totally child friendly, but I don't think bringing another animal there would be a good idea. (Speak to the villa though, they may have a different opinion.)
Pet-friendly villas are really found by speaking with the management companies. For child friendly villas, look carefully for proper staffing and some sense of safety. Pools here don't have fences and such. However, most villas are staffed, so finding someone to help you watch out for the little ones is never a problem.
where is villa des indes? can you recommend a children-friendly and pet-allowed villas in Bali? I have a 6 mo niece and a dog. Thanks.
