Our favorite places in Bali
There's lots to do in Ubud and there are many accommodations choices. It's hard to advise you without knowing your budget. You can find a review of the Waka property on this site. There are a number of villas. One very nice, but pricey villa, is Villa Vajra (www.villavajra.com?).
In terms of activities, there is penty to see in and around Ubud, there is also good shopping, good yoga, great performances and museums. Fine dining is also on the list. In October the main event is the Ubud Writers & Readers Festival. You can visit their site at http://www.ubudwritersfest.com.
A good source of information is the Bali Travel Portal. http://www.balitravelportal.com
Enjoy your trip! If you find something great, please come back and tell us about it.

I will check the links you gave.
This forum is very helpful for new comer like me.
Kintamani is really great but there are so few places to stay. I think the east side of the island, north of Candidasa is some of the most interesting and the least disturbed by development. There are also some nice places to stay around the Candidasa area, making it a good base for further explorations. Tirtigangga and the slopes of Gunung Agung are brilliant.

Hi Rico. I've never been in Ubud. Can you recommend a good accommodation there? My family and I will come around Sept-Oct. If we choose to stay in UBud, is there any event for tourist, great food nearby, local attractions, etc? Thanks for info.
