Location

Villa Des Indes is perfectly located in Seminyak, Jalan Laksmana (known as Jalan Oberoi) and is directly across from the beachfront and adjacent to chic bars and restaurants La Lucciola and Ku De Ta.

Accommodation

Villa Des Indes Private Residence is made up of two colonial individual villas, Villa Des Indes I and II, which can be rented out as a 2, 3 or 5 bedroom residence. A small gangway and private entrances separate the two colonial villas.

Villa Des Indes I (3 bedroom)

The Joglo is a centerpiece of Villa Des Indes I, an open-air living area that appears to be floating on water, surrounded by a 21-meter swimming pool.

Two of the sleeping pavilions have wide verandahs and den-libraries full of interesting books, attached to the bedrooms. The third pavilion has an open upper level with adjacent butler's pantry and guest toilet.

Villa Des Indes II: (2 bedroom)

Within Villa Des Indes II there is a two bedroom pavilion in the same colonial style. Bathrooms house pedestal washbasins and tropical outdoor showers. An outdoor relaxation bale is set within the Villa’s lush tropical garden and fringes the private swimming pool of the Villa.

Children

Children are welcome at Villa Des Indes. It’s important to inform us of the age of children in advance as some antiques may need to be re-appropriated.

The Joglo

The skilled artisans of Demak in Central Java cleverly carved Joglo houses using traditional tongue and groove techniques, forgoing any use of nails in the design. Finely carved, the Joglo features finely carved pillars fluted with delicate floral patterns and symmetrical intricate layers of mandala style artwork in the ceiling.

Each piece has its own story; the paintings by famous early artists, the old traveling desk with removable legs, and the more modern pieces such as the 1940’s radio, weighing scales as well as numerous original Dutch East Indes travel posters.
